Start your apostille request
Tell us about your document and upload a scan or photo for review. We’ll reply within 1 business day with next steps and a quote. Most apostilles require the original certified document; we’ll tell you exactly what to send.
Hague Apostille Convention countries
An apostille is accepted in the 130 countries that belong to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. Documents for any other country need embassy or consulate legalization instead, a longer process we can also help with.
Includes Hong Kong and Macao (through China). A few members have objected to certain newer members, and an apostille isn’t accepted between those pairs, so we confirm acceptance for your destination before we begin. Source: HCCH status table, updated June 30, 2026.
Apostille FAQ
How long does an apostille take?
Rush service takes about 2 business days. Standard service takes 1–2 weeks, depending on the document and whether County Clerk certification is needed first.
What’s the difference between an apostille and legalization?
Hague Convention countries accept an apostille. Non-member countries require embassy or consulate legalization, which adds steps and time. We’ll tell you which applies.
Do you need my original document?
Usually yes. Vital records generally need a certified copy issued by the government office. Upload a scan with your request and we’ll confirm exactly what to send.
How do I get my original to you?
Drop it off at our Brooklyn Heights office, mail it, or use our same-day pickup through our in-house courier service in all five boroughs (fee applies).
